Application Process
Instructor Training Candidates (ITCs) wishing to attend a session of the Horse Power Instructor Training School (HPITS) may apply at any time. The application deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the course in which you’re applying although we encourage applicants to submit their application as soon as possible. Applicants are asked to visit the farm prior to submitting an application or prior to acceptance for a personal interview and tour. We like to have potential candidates meet us and see the farm. Applicants may visit during an open house or private appointment.
Perspective candidates are required to submit a completed application packet and a $50 processing fee. The application must be completed in its entirety to be considered. All items should be mailed together in one packet and it is encouraged that applicants make a copy prior to mailing.
After your application has been submitted we will review it and respond as to your acceptance within two weeks. You will be notified by phone and email followed by a mailed acceptance packet or your returned application.
Candidates will be considered on a first come-first served basis with a maximum of 6 students accepted into the program each three month course offered. When a course reaches its maximum, we will notify you immediately and you will be given first priority for future courses. Your application fee of $50 will also be returned immediately.
Following written acceptance from the HPITS, applicants must register or accept admission for the course which includes the non-refundable deposit of $1000 to officially reserve your space for the course.
