Teaching Staff
Isabella (Boo) Martin, M.Ed., is Founder and Executive Director of Pony Farm, Horse Power and Touchstone Farm, oversees the Touchstone Driving Program. She is a life-long rider, driver and instructor. She has taught driving to Pony Farm campers for 40 years. She has also attended many driving clinics, as well as competed in some regional driving competitions. She has worked hard with PATH Intl. (formerly NARHA) to help create the driving certification for therapeutic programs across the country. She holds the PATH Therapeutic Driving Instructor Certification. In addition, she is a PATH Intl. Certified Associate Driving Evaluator. She is also a PATH, Intl. Master Level Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Master CHA Instructor. She has hosted and presented at numerous driving clinics, workshops and competitions at the farm and across the US.
Kristen Retter, M.Ed., is also a life-long rider and has been driving for the past 15 years. Her career as a special educator and school psychologist have spanned 37 years, retiring after 19 years as a school psychologist in the Nashua, NH, School District. Whether competing in ridden dressage, eventing, pleasure driving shows, CDE’s (Combined Driving Events) or going out for organized, recreational drives, Kris and her husband, Alan, have enjoyed considerable success. Kris is also a life-long learner and continues to attend workshops, seminars and take private lessons, under saddle as well as in harness. She will work with the beginning students to give them confidence and help them begin their driving careers with sound basics.
